Tip of the Month – The Power Of Your E-Mail Signature PDF Print E-mail
E-mail is a great tool that most of us use on a daily basis.  The average person may send dozens, if not hundreds of e-mails a day.  One thing that most people don’t do though, is leverage this great tool to market yourself, your product, or your service.  Here are a couple of great ways to leverage your e-mail signature:

Set Up Your E-Mail Signature Automatically 

Most e-mail programs allow you to set up an e-mail signature that is automatically added to the bottom of every e-mail you send.  By setting this up in advance, you never have to think about it again, which says you time. 

Include Your Contact Information 

If you send me an e-mail, and I want to call you or fax you something, make it easy for me!  If I have to look up your number, or try to figure out how to get in touch with you, I probably won’t.  This really comes into play when people forward your e-mail to someone that doesn’t know you. 

Add Links To Your Signature 

Adding links to your website, your e-mail address, and other things that may be interesting to people is a great way to market yourself and your services.  This makes it easy for someone to click through and learn more about you. 

Make It Look Professional 

Your e-mail signature should look professional.  You can have a graphic design artist design on for you, or design your own.  You can add your picture or your business logo to jazz things up a bit as well. 

Add A Special Offer 

Adding a special offer to your e-mail signature with a “call to action” is a great way to drive additional business.  For example, you can add a link to your website in your signature that says, “click here for a free consultation”.  This makes it nice and easy for someone to sign up for your product or service.  You can also add an e-mail newsletter sign up to make it easy for people to sign up for your newsletter! Following these tips will help you to take advantage of e-mail as a great free marketing tool!
